Bharat NCAP Scoring Dashboard Scaffold and Data Contract

Create the dashboard project skeleton and define the canonical JSON data contract for Bharat NCAP test records, including vehicle metadata, test type, star rating, and sub-scores, so all later cases consume a single validated schema.

Ingest and Validate Bharat NCAP Assessment CSV Files

Implement a CSV ingestion pipeline that parses Bharat NCAP assessment exports, validates required columns and value ranges, and reports row-level errors without crashing the dashboard.

Normalize Adult Occupant Protection Scores Across Test Variants

Build a normalization layer that maps adult occupant protection sub-scores from different Bharat NCAP test variants into a common 0–100 scale while preserving the original star rating and test configuration.

NormalizeOccupant

Compute Weighted Overall Star Rating from Category Scores

Implement the Bharat NCAP weighted scoring logic that combines adult occupant, child occupant, and safety assist category scores into an overall star rating, with configurable weights and explicit rounding rules.

WeightedCategory

Render a Vehicle Scorecard with Star Rating and Category Breakdown

Build a reusable scorecard component that displays a vehicle's overall star rating, category sub-scores, and test date, driven entirely by the normalized data contract.

ScorecardCategory

Build a Sortable and Filterable Vehicle Comparison Table

Implement a dashboard table that lists all assessed vehicles with sortable columns for star rating, adult occupant score, child occupant score, and safety assist score, plus filters for test year and body type.

SortableFilterable

Visualize Adult Occupant Protection Sub-scores with a Bar Chart

Create a bar chart that breaks down adult occupant protection into frontal offset, side impact, and pole impact sub-scores for a selected vehicle, using the dashboard's normalized data.

VisualizeOccupant

Plot Child Occupant Protection Scores Across Test Configurations

Build a grouped chart that compares child occupant protection scores for CRS installations and dynamic test configurations, highlighting pass/fail thresholds defined by Bharat NCAP.

OccupantProtection

Implement Safety Assist Feature Coverage Matrix

Create a matrix view that shows which safety assist technologies (ESC, AEB, seatbelt reminders, etc.) are present per vehicle and how each contributes to the safety assist category score.

ImplementCoverage

Add Star Rating Distribution Histogram to the Dashboard

Implement a histogram that shows the distribution of overall star ratings across all assessed vehicles, with drill-down filtering by test year and vehicle segment.

DistributionHistogram

Build a Vehicle Detail Page with Test Metadata and Score Timeline

Create a detail view for a single vehicle that displays all test metadata, category scores, and a timeline of assessment dates, using the same data contract as the scorecard.

MetadataTimeline

Implement Score Delta Comparison Between Two Vehicles

Add a side-by-side comparison mode that computes and displays the delta in each category score and overall star rating between two selected vehicles, with color-coded improvements and regressions.

ImplementComparison

Create a Bharat NCAP Test Protocol Reference Panel

Build an in-dashboard reference panel that lists the Bharat NCAP test protocols (offset frontal, side impact, etc.) and links each protocol to the vehicles assessed under it, without duplicating scoring logic.

Implement Data Quality Checks for Missing or Inconsistent Scores

Add a data quality module that flags vehicles with missing category scores, inconsistent star ratings, or out-of-range values, and surfaces these issues in a dashboard alert panel.

ImplementInconsistent

Build a Configurable Scoring Rule Engine for Bharat NCAP Variants

Implement a rule engine that applies different Bharat NCAP scoring variants (e.g., different weight sets or thresholds) to the same raw sub-scores, allowing the dashboard to switch between rule sets without code changes.

ConfigurableNCAP

Add Export to PDF for Vehicle Scorecards

Implement a PDF export feature that generates a printable scorecard for a selected vehicle, including star rating, category breakdown, and test metadata, using the dashboard's rendering components.

Implement Search and Autocomplete for Vehicle Models

Add a search bar with autocomplete that queries the vehicle dataset by make, model, and variant, and navigates to the corresponding detail page, with debounced input and keyboard navigation.

ImplementAutocomplete

Build a Responsive Layout for Mobile Scorecard Viewing

Adapt the scorecard and comparison table to a mobile-first responsive layout, ensuring star ratings and category scores remain legible and interactive on small screens.

ResponsiveScorecard

Add Accessibility Features to Scorecard Components

Implement ARIA labels, keyboard focus management, and screen-reader-friendly star rating descriptions for the scorecard and comparison table, validated against WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements.

AccessibilityFeatures

Implement Caching for Vehicle Score Queries

Add an in-memory cache layer for frequently accessed vehicle score queries, with cache invalidation on data updates, and measure the reduction in repeated computation time.

Implementin-memory

Build a Dashboard Summary KPI Panel

Create a KPI panel that displays total vehicles assessed, average adult occupant score, average child occupant score, and percentage of 5-star vehicles, updating dynamically with active filters.

Implement Drill-down from KPI Panel to Filtered Vehicle List

Wire the KPI panel so clicking a KPI (e.g., 5-star vehicles) applies the corresponding filter to the vehicle comparison table and updates the URL query parameters for shareable state.

ImplementDrill-down

Add a Score Trend Chart by Assessment Year

Build a line chart that shows the average overall star rating and category scores per assessment year, with tooltips showing the number of vehicles assessed in each year.

Assessmentcategory

Implement Vehicle Segment Filter with Dynamic Aggregates

Add a segment filter (hatchback, sedan, SUV, etc.) that recomputes all dashboard aggregates and charts for the selected segment, ensuring consistent filtering across components.

ImplementAggregates

Build a Safety Assist Feature Contribution Breakdown

Create a stacked bar chart that shows how each safety assist feature contributes to the total safety assist score for a selected vehicle, using the feature coverage matrix data.

ContributionBreakdown

Implement a Star Rating Badge Component with Tooltip

Build a reusable star rating badge component that renders filled and empty stars, includes a tooltip with the exact score and rating date, and is used consistently across scorecards and tables.

ImplementComponent

Add Data Refresh and Versioning for Assessment Records

Implement a data versioning mechanism that tracks changes to assessment records over time and allows the dashboard to display the latest version while preserving historical scores for audit.

VersioningAssessment

Build a Dashboard Error Boundary and Fallback UI

Implement an error boundary that catches rendering failures in scorecard and chart components, displays a fallback message, and logs the error without breaking the entire dashboard.

DashboardBoundary

Implement Unit Tests for Scoring and Normalization Logic

Write unit tests for the weighted star rating calculation, normalization layer, and data validation rules, covering edge cases such as missing sub-scores and boundary values.

ImplementNormalization

Add End-to-End Test for Vehicle Comparison Workflow

Write an end-to-end test that loads the dashboard, selects two vehicles, opens the comparison view, and verifies that the displayed score deltas match the expected values from the data contract.

End-to-EndComparison
