08
Identify Time-Zero Misalignment in Injury Curve Analysis
Detect and correct time-zero misalignment between vehicle acceleration and occupant injury signals by cross-correlating onset points, and quantify the effect of misalignment on HIC and other injury metrics.
IdentifyTime-Zero
09
Diagnose Occupant Kinematics from Accelerometer and Video Data
Fuse vehicle accelerometer data with occupant video to reconstruct occupant kinematics during a crash, and validate the resulting motion against injury curves to diagnose phase lags or missing constraints.
DiagnoseOccupant
10
Reconstruct a Multi-Impact Collision Timeline
Separate and sequence multiple impacts from EDR acceleration pulses, assign each impact to a vehicle event, and align the composite timeline with occupant injury curves to diagnose cumulative injury effects.
ReconstructMulti-Impact
11
Diagnose Injury Curve Anomalies Using Statistical Process Control
Apply statistical process control charts to a set of occupant injury curves to detect outliers and shifts in injury severity, and trace anomalies back to specific crash timeline features or data quality issues.
DiagnoseAnomalies
12
Validate Crash Pulse Reconstruction Against Injury Outcomes
Reconstruct a crash pulse from EDR data and simulate occupant response to compare predicted injury metrics with observed injury outcomes, diagnosing pulse reconstruction errors that affect injury prediction.
ValidateReconstruction
13
Diagnose Sensor Saturation Effects on Timeline and Injury Curves
Identify accelerometer saturation in EDR data, assess its impact on delta-v calculation and injury curve derivation, and apply appropriate clipping or interpolation to produce a corrected timeline.
DiagnoseSaturation
14
Reconstruct Pedestrian Impact Timeline from Vehicle Sensors
Use EDR and additional sensor data to reconstruct a pedestrian impact timeline, estimate impact speed and wrap-around distance, and correlate with pedestrian injury curves to diagnose injury severity patterns.
ReconstructPedestrian
15
Diagnose Occupant Injury Curves for Out-of-Position Scenarios
Analyze injury curves for out-of-position occupants by aligning them with airbag deployment timing and vehicle kinematics, and diagnose the influence of initial posture on injury metrics.

16
Correlate Crash Pulse Duration with Injury Curve Shape
Extract crash pulse duration and shape parameters from EDR data and correlate them with occupant injury curve shapes (e.g., rise time, peak) to diagnose how pulse characteristics affect injury severity.
CorrelateDuration
17
Diagnose Data Quality Issues in EDR Pre-Crash Records
Assess pre-crash data quality by checking sample rates, missing values, and time stamps, and repair or flag issues that could distort the reconstructed timeline and subsequent injury analysis.
DiagnoseEDR
18
Reconstruct a Side Impact Timeline and Correlate with Thoracic Injury Curves
Build a side impact timeline from EDR lateral acceleration and door sensor data, and correlate with thoracic injury curves (e.g., rib deflection) to diagnose injury mechanisms specific to side loading.
ReconstructTimeline
19
Diagnose the Effect of Occupant Size on Injury Curves in Similar Crashes
Compare injury curves from occupants of different sizes (e.g., ATD percentiles) in matched crash timelines, and diagnose scaling factors or injury criteria adjustments needed for accurate comparison.
DiagnoseOccupant
20
Validate Event Timeline Reconstruction Using Photogrammetry
Use photogrammetry from crash scene images to validate vehicle positions and impact points, and integrate with EDR timeline to confirm or correct the reconstructed event sequence.
ValidateTimeline
21
Diagnose Injury Curve Sensitivity to Delta-V Calculation Methods
Compute delta-v using different integration and filtering methods from the same EDR acceleration data, and quantify how these choices affect injury curve metrics, diagnosing the most robust method for the given crash.
